Ekohotblog:Sanwo-Olu Pays N4.5bn, Clears Pension Backlog
Lagos State Governor on Thursday paid N4.5 billion pension and gratuity to 2,000 retirees.
With this payment, Sanwo-Olu has effectively cleared all pension backlog in Lagos State.
According to the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, the outstanding pension funds were disbursed this morning at the 105th Retirement Benefit Bond Certificate Presentation Ceremony hosted by Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) in Oregun.
He said that Lagos has now moved from delaying pension to Pay-As-You-Go.
Sanwo-Olu has promised during his campaign for the second term in office that he would clear all pensions and gratuity.
On Thursday, he fulfilled his promise by ensuring that 2,000 retirees received their retirement benefits.
