Sanwo-Olu Swears In Eight Permanent Secretaries, Tutors-General In Lagos

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday inaugurated eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General, urging them to uphold integrity and foster collaboration to maintain Lagos as a hub of innovation, development, and inclusivity.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Lagos House, Ikeja, with the governor emphasizing the importance of their leadership roles in delivering excellence and accountability in public service.

He assured the appointees of his administration’s commitment to providing the resources and support needed for their success.

A statement from the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, confirmed the immediate deployment of the appointees to various ministries. The new officials include:

Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila (Teaching Service Commission)
Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite (Audit Service Commission)
Mrs. Ojo Modupe (Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget)
Mr. Hameed Oyenuga (Ministry of Justice and Solicitor-General)
Dr. Adetola John (Office of the State Auditor-General)
Mr. Kadri Oluwasanu (Office of Chief of Staff)
Mrs. Mojisola Yusuf (Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Education District VI)
Mr. Hassan Abiodun (Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Education District V)
Sanwo-Olu, speaking on the significance of their roles, said, “These positions represent the pinnacle of the civil service hierarchy in Lagos State. They come with immense responsibilities to lead, innovate, and inspire your teams to achieve the vision of a Greater Lagos.”

The governor added that the appointees’ legacies would not only be measured by policies implemented but by the lives they transform. He called on them to embrace visionary leadership and uphold the values of excellence, accountability, and service delivery.

State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, also highlighted the strategic importance of the appointments, noting they were part of efforts to reinvigorate the state’s governance and elevate deserving public servants to higher responsibilities.

The ceremony underscored the administration’s focus on strengthening governance to achieve the goals of a Greater Lagos.
