The governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reminded citizens that wearing masks is mandatory to fight against the coronavirus even as residents and citizens celebrate during Yuletide.
The governor of Lagos has threatened penalties and sanctions for anyone who violates the requirement to wear a mask while the virus is spreading among the population, as gathered by Eko Hot Blog.
“We have made arrangements for the production of masks in large quantities for the people of Lagos State,” he said, stressing the opportunity for the private sector to contribute to the fight against Covid-19 while securing a lucrative business.
It is instructive to note that new evidence has shown that COVID-19 might be able to spread through the air. It also seems to be contagious even though people who do not have symptoms to show they are infected.

The best guard against airborne viruses is known as N95 masks. These are what hospital workers sometimes wield around people who may be sick. They are numerous from the masks that doctors and nurses wear in surgery.
“Africa as a whole remains even less affected than most other regions of the world, with 1,330 deaths for more than 29,000 confirmed cases” He stressed.
“We must make sure we do everything within our power to curtail the further spread of the deadly virus even as we celebrate and rejoice during the Christmastide and also for residents, all unnecessary journey should be called” he added.
