EKO HOT BLOG reports that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday said he encouraged the first lady Remi Tinubu on the Renewed Hope Initiative during his recent visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Sanwo-Olu also noted that he praised the First Lady for empowering women and other vulnerable groups in society.
Tinubu’s interventions include a national scholarship program which was recently flagged off in Abuja with 43 beneficiaries from across the nation, ICT training for women and other empowerment programs in agriculture and social investment.
The governor said that these would complement similar policy objectives of President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda.
He said: “We have to encourage her on the Renewed Hope Initiative which we have all heard about, which she is championing with the wife of the vice president, Nana Shettima and of course with other first ladies across the states because it complements what Mr. President is doing. I think she is really great with her focus on schools and to be able to provide succour for the people that are vulnerable.”
On the ongoing reforms by President Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu said taking the country to a level where every Nigerian can be comfortable requires hard decisions and systematic efforts by the government, as well as a lot of patience on the part of the citizens.
