Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sworn in 38 new commissioners and special advisers.
The swearing-in ceremony held on Wednesday afternoon at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

The Lagos State House of Assembly, after some back and forth, had confirmed 38 nominees for the governor’s cabinet, with the last one, Tolani Sule-Akibu, being confirmed less than 24 hours before the swearing-in ceremony.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu charged the new cabinet members to ensure the delivery of the administration’s signature THEMES+ developmental agenda to millions of Lagos residents.
The governor, who also charged the cabinet members to reflect excellence in the discharge of their duties, expressed optimism on a better society, saying, “I see a bigger Lagos rising.“
He stressed that his administration must deliver on its promises of a greater Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu also said charged the new cabinet members to prepare for the challenges ahead, saying they must see their appointment as a unique privilege and a call to service.
“This event is historic. The members of the state Executive Council have been painstakingly chosen. They are emblem of what Lagos is all about,” the governor noted.
He commended the state assembly for the support, while seeking more collaboration, saying residents would be the bigger beneficiaries at the end.
“Meeting the targets is not an option. You must reflect excellence in your duty with best interest of the people at heart,” Sanwo-Olu added in a charge to the new commissioners and special advisers.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, Chief Judge of Lagos State, Kazeem Alogba, Secretary to State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, family members, friends, traditional rulers, and top government functionaries.
Others were members of the Governance Advisory Council, GAC, led by the Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains, former Senators, led by Senator representing Lagos West and former Deputy Governor in the state, Dr. Idiat Adebule, Chairmen of Local Governments, ex-commissioners, religious leaders, bodies of Permanent Secretaries, among others.
