In his quest to achieve a world class rail system in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of and his team have taken a tour to Metro Istanbul in Turkey to intimate themselves, and interact with their system, processes and methods of operations.

Sanwo-Olu who disclosed this with pictures taken during the visit on Sunday via his twitter handle, noted that purchasing and taking delivery of the metropolitan trains is not the end of the process of achieving a world class rail system.

According to the Governor, to get the rail system right, there is a need to collaborate with countries and systems who have maintained a track record of successes in that sector.

He stated that they met with GM/CEO of Metro Istanbul, Mr. Ozgur Soy, who took them on an intensive inspection tour of their facilities.

In the series of tweets Sanwo-Olu said:

“Purchasing and taking delivery of the metropolitan trains is not the end of the process of achieving a world class rail system in Lagos.

“To get it right, there is a need to collaborate with countries and systems who have maintained a track record of successes in that sector.

“With this in mind, my team and I visited Metro Istanbul in Turkey to intimate ourselves, and interact with their system, processes and methods of operations.

“We met with the GM/CEO of Metro Istanbul, Mr. Ozgur Soy, who took us on an intensive inspection tour of their facilities.
