Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has commissioned the first Okegun-Odofin Community Junior Secondary School, a testament to the power of collaboration between the public and private sectors.
This state-of-the-art facility, constructed and donated by Nigerian Breweries Plc, marks a significant milestone in the “One Community At a Time” (OCAAT) initiative.
Represented by Secretary to the State Government, Barr. ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Nigerian Breweries Plc for their unwavering support of the state’s “Education and Technology” pillar.
He emphasized that educating a child is akin to educating a nation, and this donation is a lifetime legacy.
The Governor highlighted the significance of Public-Private Partnerships in driving progress and development across various sectors in Lagos State.
He noted that the school’s establishment will enable parents to send their children to a nearby secondary school, eliminating long commutes and ensuring access to quality education in a conducive environment.
Sanwo-Olu also commended the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Folashade Sherifat Jaji, for initiating and securing approval for the OCAAT program during her tenure.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Tolani Alli-Balogun assured that preparations to get the school operational are well underway.
The Baale of Okegun-Odofin, Chief Ismaila Ogunkoya, and other community leaders also expressed their appreciation and pledged to take ownership of and protect the school.
