Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received accolades from the World Bank for the transformative progress recorded in the state over the past five years.
The World Bank’s Country Director in Nigeria, Mr. Ndiama Diop, led a team of executives on a courtesy visit to the Governor at the State House in Marina, commending the state’s efforts in improving the quality of life for residents and upgrading infrastructure to boost socio-economic development.
Diop specifically praised the reforms in the transportation sector, which have expanded multimodal transportation capabilities in Lagos.
He highlighted the delivery of intracity rail infrastructure and investment in waterways, positioning the state’s economy for growth.
Diop said, “I commend the Lagos State Government under your leadership for transforming the transportation landscape, making it a model for modern cities. Your successes across various sectors are visible, catalyzing socio-economic development and growth.”
