Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a resounding show of support for the creative sector, the Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to fostering a vibrant creative industry.
This affirmation came during an event held on Wednesday at Allianz Francaise, Ikoyi, Lagos, to commemorate the 2024 annual World Theatre Day.
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, emphasized the administration’s dedication to supporting practitioners in the creative industry, acknowledging their transformational roles in society. “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Administration will continue to support practitioners in the creative industry in view of their transformational roles in society,” Aregbe stated.
Aregbe highlighted the importance of the World Theatre Day celebration, emphasizing its role in spotlighting the contributions of theatre to entertainment and societal change. “The day is observed to showcase the vibrancy and significance of the theatrical arts,” he said.
