Falz who’s also a lawyer and activist noted that the police were already at the Lekki tollgate to restrict and intimidate Nigerian youths from exercising their fundamental human rights.
“As I type this, there is already a HEAVY police presence at the Lekki toll gate. Best thing they could come up with is organising “concerts” to try and distract us from remembering the real heroes in all of this. The people they murdered,”, Falz Instagram post reads.
Falz position is also consistent with that of fellow entertainer and comedian, Debo Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni who had earlier taken swipes at celebrities who accepted money from Sanwoolu to perform at an event.
Mr Macaroni also implored the celebrities to rethink taking a side with the government while ignoring genuine concerns by the youths.
These comments are coming after the cancellation of a planned summit “Sorosoke Summit” initially scheduled to hold at Landmark event center. However, it was speculated yesterday that the management of the event center had bow to government pressure by refusing access to their building.
The Sorosoke Summit is now scheduled to hold online.
