Saraki Hints on How PDP Can Win Anambra Governorship Election

  • How PDP can win Anambra governorship election – Saraki
  • Saraki stated that the PDP can only win if the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducts a free, fair, and credible election.

Ekohotblog reports that former Senate President Bukola Saraki has highlighted the conditions for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to win the gubernatorial election in Anambra State next month.

Saraki stated that the PDP can only win if the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducts a free, fair, and credible election.

The former Governor of Kwara State, who spoke on Arise News on Tuesday, asked INEC to ensure the transmission of electoral results during the Anambra State governorship election.

According to Saraki: “I think what is most important is to ensure that the election holds, it’s free and fair, INEC ensures that the results are transmitted, the government must ensure it provides security for people to exercise their civic duties.

“We must also encourage the people to cooperate because we are practising democracy. The only time we have the opportunity for people to choose their leaders is during elections.

“It would be unfair if citizens of Anambra couldn’t exercise their rights.

“PDP is a party with a very good candidate who has a very good chance of winning in Anambra State; we have always done well in Anambra. We have a vibrant and popular candidate. The people of Anambra, I believe, would look at who will provide good opportunities for them, unite, and bring development to the state.

“And I believe that the PDP candidate would do that. But to do that, INEC must ensure we have free, fair, and credible elections.”
