Sarkin Fulani Of Abeokuta Reveals The Number Of Herdsmen Killed And Houses Burnt In Ogun Clash
- Abeokuta recently experienced clash between farmers and Fulani Herdsmen in some of it’s local government area (LGA).
- The most notable of the clashes in the state is the one which took place at Yewaland
- Sarkin Fulani of Abeokuta disclosed the number of houses which were burnt during the attack
According to reports, Sarkin Fulani of Abeokuta, Ogun state, Muhammad Kabir Labar has revealed the number of Fulani herdsmen killed during the farmers and herdsmen’s clashes which recently erupted in the state.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG , The Sarkin Fulani of Abeokuta spoke at the stakeholders’ meeting on farmers and herdsmen’s clashes in Ogun state.
Governors in attendance at the meeting were Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawale, Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu and Niger State Governor Abubakar Sanni Bello.
Speaking during the meeting Muhammed said, “Our people suffered more in the hands of criminals in Nigeria. But we have been portrayed as criminals. Herders deserve sympathy. They’re not criminals,”
According to Muhammed, 23 herdsmen were killed and 20 houses got burnt during the recent clashes between farmers and herdsmen in Ogun State.
The Fulani herdsmen in Ogun State were accused of crimes such has kidnappings, invading people’s farms with arms and their animals then destroying farm produce in the process. These created tension in the state which eventually led to violent clashes.
