“Congratulations to Donia Abu Talib, for officially qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Achievements are continuing, and ambition does not stop thanks to God, and then the support of the leadership of our country,” expressed Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, in a heartfelt message.

From humble beginnings at the age of eight, Abu Taleb’s journey in taekwondo has been anything but conventional. Starting her training at a boys’ club and later overcoming barriers when barred from further participation, her resilience shone through as she continued training under her brother’s coach at home. Undeterred by challenges, Abu Taleb joined the Saudi Arabian Taekwondo Federation in 2015, fueled by unwavering support and encouragement from her former coach.

Now, at 27, Abu Taleb’s illustrious career is studded with remarkable achievements. Her stellar performance includes clinching a gold medal at the World Taekwondo Club Championship in Jordan back in 2016 and earning notable bronze medals on both global and Asian stages during the 2022-2023 season.
