School Suspends Students Implicated In Viral ‘Shisha’ Video

• The parents of the students as well as the Principal of the school have also been summoned regarding the possibility of instituting legal proceedings at a juvenile court.

The students in the viral video showing some secondary school students converging to smoke a pipe of hookah, commonly referred to as shisha, have been identified as students of Oreyo Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the students have been suspended by the school authority.

According to Tokunbo Wahab, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, the Lagos State government has ordered for the rehabilitation of the students involved.

Mr. Wahab said a source within the school, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the students were all SS2 students of the school.

The parents of the students as well as the Principal of the school have also been summoned regarding the possibility of instituting legal proceedings at a juvenile court.

The source also disclosed that the incident did not happen in the school premises, but at an apartment belonging to the boyfriend of one of the students.

The boyfriend, together with his gang have been apprehended by the police.

Mr. Wahab also said that the old students of the institution, other stakeholders in education, philanthropists and all agencies on education have taken special interest in the case to ensure that individuals involved in this brazen show of recalcitrance are made to face the full consequences of their actions/inactions.
