Scores Of Buildings Marked For Demolition In Lagos
  • Scores of buildings have been marked for demolition by the Lagos State Government.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that no fewer than 70 buildings have been marked for demolition by the Lagos State Government.

This was made known via a statement by the spokesman of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Mr. Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, on Friday.

According to him, LASBCA has demolished a partially collapsed building at No. 19, Church Street, Lagos Island, while the Agency is set to demolish 70 others.

Abdulraheem, who stated that the General Manager of LASBCA, Mr. Gbolahan Oki, supervised the demolition exercise, added that the demolition was part of efforts to prevent the collapse of the building which was no longer fit for human habitation.

The LASBCA spokesman added that several other defective buildings had been marked for demolition to rid the state of defective buildings.

EKO HOT BLOG further gathered that the Agency had earlier visited the distressed building site to get an on-the-spot assessment and asked the residents to relocate for their safety.
