EKO HOT BLOG reports that it remains unclear whether the man was on or near the course.
Trump’s spokesman, Steven Cheung, confirmed the former president was unharmed, stating, “President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity.”
The suspect was later arrested on Interstate 95 by local police.
This incident comes two months after a separate assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania, where he was wounded in the ear.
The Secret Service, which faced criticism after the earlier attempt, announced via X (formerly Twitter) that they are investigating this “protective incident” and are working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
While initial reports suggested multiple shooters, sources clarified that only one Secret Service agent fired shots.
Senator Lindsey Graham later praised Trump’s resilience, expressing his support on X and noting that Trump was in “good spirits” despite the incident.
