Security operatives on Thursday evening thwarted yet another jailbreak by inmates of Kurmawa prison in Kano state.
Ekohotblog gathered that shots were fired in the precinct of the prison as residents prepared to break their Ramadan fast on Thursday evening.
The prison is situated close to the palace of Emir of Kano
Musbahu Nasarawa, spokesman of the Nigerian correctional service in Kano, who confirmed the incident, said the inmates attempted to foment chaos but were subdued by prison officials.
