Sen. Suswam Debunks Rumor Of Decamping To APC
The Former governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has debunked the rumor alleging that he was planning to decamp to the All Progressive Congress APC.
The Peoples Democratic Party PDP senator representing Benue North-East district disclosed this over the weekend at the 50th birthday party of the state chairman of the party Sir John Ngbede, at the Methodist Church, North Bank, Makurdi.
The Senator noted that the rumor was created by desperate political back stabbers to cause fraction between him and the executive Governor of the State, Samuel Ortom.
He said “I do not intend to leave the PDP the rumour was the handiwork of desperate persons. I have decided to join hands with Governor Ortom to take Benue to greater heights and there is no looking back.
“I will always support his programmes and policies and only advise him to avoid some pitfalls which I learnt from my experience as governor of the state.”
Suswam urged the people of the state to support Governor Ortom in his bid to deliver the dividends of good governance he promised while campaigning.
He said Governor Ortom “needs the support of everyone as a leader to deliver on his second term mandate.”
Meanwhile, Governor Ortom stressed that he had settled his differences with Senator Suswam adding that, they both had resolved to work together for the progress of the state.
Ortom said “The interest of the state is far above our individual interest, so ensuring a better Benue for the present and future generations would remain a top priority of my administration.”
