EDITOR’S PICKS

First, the insurgency, the Monday sit-at-home orders, and other challenges we are facing in the region. What we now see is that criminals and others promoting violence have hijacked the situation, using Nnamdi Kanu’s name to justify their despicable acts.

“We believe that President Tinubu, as a listening leader, will consider all the points presented to him through various channels and take the necessary action by releasing Nnamdi Kanu.

This move would put an end to the ongoing crisis in the Southeast and restore the region’s position as a hub of production in Nigeria.

“Kanu’s release is crucial for removing the obstacles that have hindered productivity in the Southeast.

We, therefore, continue to call on President Tinubu to act and are ready and willing to serve as guarantors for Kanu’s release.

This will allow life to return to normal in the Southeast and rid the region of criminals, kidnappers, cultists, and other dangerous elements who exploit Kanu’s name to justify their violence and criminal activities.”
