Ekohotblog gathered that the incident that occurred on May 11, 2019, was caught on camera, showing Abbo slapping a woman identified as Osimibibra Warmate, pregnant at the time, across the face.
According to reports, Mr Abbo, who had gone into the shop to make some purchases, was accompanied by three young women, one of whom started throwing up.
The owner of the shop had asked that the lady vomited outside and not inside the shop, following which the shop owner was accused by Abbo for poisoning the shop’s air conditioner, causing the lady to throw up; an accusation that the shop owner promptly dispelled, citing the generally good condition the rest of the shop occupants were in.
That explanation led to an altercation whereby senator Abbo’s ordered a police man to arrest the shop owner.
Calling for support, the shop owner placed a call to her father, telling him that the lawmaker had ordered her detention.
The shop owner’s friend, pleaded with another man in the shop that was reportedly in Abbo’s company, a move that led to her being assaulted by the lawmaker.

“I personally apologize to Babra (the lady he reportedly assaulted) and her family for my action which has brought immense discomfort to her.
“Indeed, this episode has taught me a very great lesson both as a private citizen and a public officer particularly as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria upon whom public confidence is reposed.”
