Senator Abiru Inducted Into Ikorodu Division Hall Of Fame

Eko Hot Blog reports that Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions, has been inducted into the Ikorodu Division Hall of Fame.

His induction took place on Thursday at the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, Lagos.

The senator’s induction into this esteemed Hall of Fame is a testament to the remarkable contributions he has made to the comprehensive development of Ikorodu division and the broader Lagos East Senatorial District.

The ceremony, orchestrated by the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), celebrated Abiru’s outstanding achievements in service to the community.

He joins the Hall of Fame alongside distinguished figures who have made significant contributions to Ikorodu division.

Notable inductees include HRM Oba Engr. Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushe V, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom; HRM Oba Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, FCA, the Ranodu of Imota; High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN; Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson; Chief (Mrs) Wonuola Folami, OON; Mrs Folorunsho Alakija; Bashorun Babatunde Rotinwa; Dr. Oladega Adebogun; Alhaji (Prince) Jamiu Adio Saka, and Professor Emeritus Michael Ajetunmobi.

Others are Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe; Late Dr. Jacobson Oladele Odulate (Posthumous Award); Late Chief Noah Oyekanmi Adebayo Arole (Posthumous); Late Captain Harrison Adekunle Kuti (Posthumous Award); Miss. Azeezat Oshoala, MON; and Mr. Adeseye Akinola Ogunlewe, Jnr.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday, Senator Abiru expressed gratitude for the support of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group and pledged to work tirelessly to further enhance the development of Ikorodu division.

“I am delighted to share the exciting news that I have been inducted into the Ikorodu Division Hall of Fame, alongside other illustrious personalities who have made significant contributions to our community,” he wrote.

“This prestigious honour was conferred upon me by the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) in recognition of my contributions to the development of Ikorodu division and Lagos East Senatorial District.”

The lawmaker concluded that he drew his inspiration to better his community from his father’s legacy, who also had been inducted into the Ikorodu Hall of Fame.

“I take great pride in continuing the legacy of my father, Honourable Justice Mubasheer Akanbi Olatunji Abiru, who was also inducted into the Ikorodu Hall of Fame in 1993. His commitment to public service has inspired my own determination to make a difference in our community,” Abiru added.

The father of Senator Abiru, Honourable Justice Mubasheer Akanbi Olatunji Abiru (1928-1996), who was elected into the Senate in 1979, was admitted into the Ikorodu Hall of Fame in 1993.
