It followed a similar religious gathering earlier in the week, where Senator Abiru hosted thousands of Muslims at a grand Ramadan Lecture at the Ikorodu Eid Ground, Ota-Ona, attended by prominent Islamic clerics and community leaders.

Speaking at the Christian gathering, Reverend Omotoso Johnson encouraged believers to show love, kindness, and mercy, especially during the Lenten season. He commended Senator Abiru for his commitment to uplifting the lives of the people in Lagos East, noting that his leadership is a model of fairness and service.

Quoting Acts 10:38, Reverend Johnson said, “Just as Jesus Christ went about doing good, Senator Abiru has shown the same spirit of kindness and generosity, serving the people of Lagos East regardless of religion or background. This prayer session is a celebration of good leadership and unity.”

Representing Senator Abiru at the event was Hon. Olusegun Olulade, Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, Galaxy Backbone Limited. He urged the Christian community to continue praying for peace, good leadership, and national development.

“Nigeria is at a critical time, and as Christians, we must remain steadfast in prayer. Our churches must be places of hope and support for the weak. Let us pray for our leaders to be guided by wisdom and fairness. Together, through prayer and service, we can build a better, peaceful nation,” Olulade stated.

He referenced 2 Chronicles 7:14, encouraging Christians to humble themselves, seek God’s face, and pray for healing in the land.

Also speaking at the event, CAN leader in Lagos East, Reverend Joshua Ojo, praised Senator Abiru for his inclusive leadership style and for giving equal attention to all religious groups.

“Senator Abiru has proven to be a friend of the Christian community. His leadership is people-centered, and he has been fair to everyone. We thank him for always carrying all groups along,” Rev. Ojo said.

In her vote of thanks, Hon. (Mrs.) Adebimpe Akinsola expressed gratitude to the Christian community for their constant support and partnership.

“Your support has helped us achieve so much. We appreciate your prayers, love, and commitment to the progress of Lagos East,” she said.

Other notable dignitaries at the event included Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, Alhaja Sherifat Abiodun Ogunniyi, and Alhaji Musiliu Sulaiman (popularly known as Ola 4), who all praised Senator Abiru for his dedication to promoting unity, religious tolerance, and community development.

Throughout his tenure, Senator Abiru has remained committed to empowering his constituents through various programs in education, health, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.
