  • The All Progressives Congress Lagos East Senatorial candidate for the rescheduled December 5 by-election, Mr Tokunbo Abiru, has seeked for support to rebuild Lagos in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest.

Abiru said all stakeholders, including the civil society, diplomatic community, informal sector, corporate organisations and all residents should play active roles in rebuilding the state.

A statement on Tuesday said the candidate spoke while fielding questions from journalists at the inauguration of the Rebuild Trust Fund at Alausa, Ikeja.

“It simply means we must all support the effort of the Lagos State Government to rebuild Lagos after the destruction of key assets, restore public confidence, safeguard public assets, protect all categories of investment and strengthen public order and safety, among others,” he added.

On the rescheduled by-election, Abiru said he was confident of winning the poll.

He stated that he was passionate about the youth, “not just because of the #EndSARS fallout, but also because of shrinking opportunities for them.”
