EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Social Economic Rights and Accountability Projects (SERAP) has threatened to drag President Muhammadu Buhari to court over the attack on supporters of Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi in Lagos.
This online media platform reported that certain individuals had attacked Obidients during their Lagos rally on Saturday.
The attackers destroyed several buses and other vehicles, leaving many wounded and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
Obi, who said the attack was troubling, urged the Police to fish out those responsible.
Reacting to the incident via its official Twitter handle on Saturday, the group asked Buhari’s administration to investigate the attack on Obi supporters while expressing in a Lagos.
It insisted that the perpetrators and their sponsors must be apprehended and brought to book without any further delay.
The group wrote, “We’re suing the Buhari administration over reports of brutal attacks on supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, today(Saturday) in Lagos, to ensure justice and end impunity for political violence ahead of the elections.”
However, the Lagos State Police Command says it has begun investigations into the Saturday attack.
