Serial R*pist Nabbed By Police After Escaping Prison

A high-profile criminal and serial rapist identified as Adeniyi Ajayi, broke out of the custody of the Lagos State Police Command during the #EndSARS protest.

According to reports, an informant at the headquarters of the command declared Ajayi, alias Ogologo, soon after his arrest by members of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad, has been brought to justice and returned to court.

But he was sent back to the SARS office in Ikeja.

According to the source, this was due to COVID-19 restrictions, which prevented the custodial service from welcoming new detainees at the time..

After the dismantling of SARS as a result of the national protest against police brutality, some of the suspects in its cell escaped.

He was marched by state police commissioner Hakeem Odumosu on 1 July 2020, at the command headquarters for raping no fewer than eight women while stealing from various parts of the state.

The suspect, who was arrested in the Ijora Badia area, confessed to the rape of three women.

The criminal also demanded that the police kill him, saying that he could not change his old habits.

He had said,

“I prefer to be killed than go to prison. I have been imprisoned before, but when I came out, I had no job and that was why I went back to robbing people. I have only raped three victims, and it was when their husbands and bosses refused to cooperate with me that I raped their wives and maids in their presence.”

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the suspect, shortly after the parade,  was placed in detention and charged with robbery.

“He was not arraigned for rape, but robbery. Because of COVID-19, he was remanded in police custody and that was where he escaped along with other suspects during a jailbreak. They almost killed one of the officers while escaping,” the source added.
