Seriki Bamu, Elejinrin, Ikuforiji, Others Emerge Winners At CNI’s EDCAA 2023 (FULL LIST)
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Epe Division Community Annual Awards (EDCAA) 2023 has produced at least 15 winners.
The winners were announced at an event on Wednesday night.
The event, which was hosted by the Concerned NationBuilders Initiative (CNI), witnessed some big margin and small margin victories.
The awards, which were voted for by the public in an online poll, were won by individuals, schools, organisations, and communities.
One of the most influential winners of the night was the apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Epe Division, Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, who won the Epe Ambassador of the Year award for the Male category.
He fended off five strong challengers such as Hon. Odeyemi Wastab and Dr. Tola Kasali, amongst others, to bag the top award.
Alhaji Bamu, who is also a member of the influential Governor’s Advisory Committee (GAC) in Lagos State, is a popular figure in Epe Division and known for his developmental strides in the community.
Another big winner of the night was the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji.
The former speaker bagged the Epe Division Man of the Year, emerging winner with more than 40% of the vote.
Ikuforiji, a political icon in the Epe Division, was recognised for his positive influence in advancing the community’s development.
Meanwhile, the Royal Personality of the Year witnessed the fiercest competition at the EDCAA 2023.
Elejinrin of Ejinrin, Oba Rafiu Ishola Balogun, won the Royal Personality of the Year award by the slimmest of margins.
The monarch, who scored 1,000 votes, pipped the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, by only one vote to bag the award.
However, there was a significant margin between the Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Hakeem Shittu, and his closest challenger.
Shittu, who scored 43% of 4,300 votes, bagged the Education Support Personality of the Year.
Additionally, Eko Hot Blog bagged the Media Company of the Year award, while its publisher, Otunba TJ Abass, was the recipient of the Philanthropist of the Year award.
Yeye Chief Iyabo Osifeso won the Female category of the Epe Ambassador of the Year award, while media entrepreneur, Babatunde Kaka, was voted the Youth Influencer of the Year.
The St. Michael’s Anglican Primary School, Popo Oba, Epe, won the Best Primary School award with 28% of the vote, while Epe Girls Junior School was the recipient of the Best Public Junior Secondary School award.
Epe Senior Grammar School, Epe, easily won the Best Senior Secondary School award with 45.9% of the vote.
Epe Federal Constituency also won the Most Performing Constituency award, while Epe Local Government was named the Most Performing LG/LCDA with 40.1% of the vote.
