Reports indicate that the abduction occurred on Saturday morning while the victims were working in their fields. The bandits forcibly took the farmers to an unknown location.
A local community leader, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the incident and stated that all the abducted individuals are men. The leader expressed the community’s deep concern, revealing that the bandits have demanded a ransom of N2 million, which exceeds the village’s financial capacity.
“We are devastated by this event. The abduction of our men while they were laboring on their farm has thrown us into turmoil. The ransom demand is far beyond what we can afford due to our current economic struggles,” the leader said.
The leader also noted that the bandits’ actions could severely impact the community’s ability to provide food for their families if they are prevented from accessing their farms.
“Even if the ransom were reduced to N1 million, it would still be unattainable given our impoverished state,” he added.
There has been no official response from the state government or the police regarding the incident. Efforts to contact ASP Mansir Hassan, the Police Public Relations Officer, for comment have been unsuccessful.
