The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has reopened Olore Mosque seven months after it has been marked for demolition.
Ekohotblog recalls that the mosque was an illegal rehabilitation center where over 200 inmates that were subjected to different inhuman treatment were rescued in an operation led by CP Shina Olukolu of the Oyo police Command
The mosque was marked for demolition on the 6th of November, 2019, after the Governor visited the facility.

The operation had led to the arrest of five persons, including one of the operators of the centre identified as Ismail Olore.
Twenty two out of the over two hundred inmates freed by security agencies were hospitalized in 2019 for immediate treatment.
However, subsequent reports explained that majority of the inmates were taken to the correction centre for rehabilitation by their parents willingly.
