Seven Reportedly Dead As Killings Continue In Anambra

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the killings in Anambra State continued unabated this weekend, with no fewer than seven persons being victims.

Okechukwu Okoye, a lawmaker in the state, was beheaded on Saturday, and by Sunday more victims had been sent to early graves.

The victims were murdered at different locations in Anambra.

Among them were four siblings and their mother who were shot dead at Isulo, Orumba North Local Government Area of the State.

Two were killed in Abatete, Idemili North local government area, while one was killed in Nanka Orumba North LGA.

According to sources, the gunmen invaded those areas and opened fire on the victims and left.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, said he could not confirm the incident as the details were sketchy.

He said the command would talk about the incidents it gets a clear picture of what transpired.

Meanwhile, tension has heightened in Anambra as a result of incessant killings.

The killings appears to have been on the rise since Prof Charles Soludo assumed office as governor.
