Sex Trafficking: Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Denied Bail, to Remain in Federal Custody

Sean “Diddy” Combs, the hip-hop mogul, has been denied bail following his plea of not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, EKOT HOT Blog learnt.

Combs was taken into federal custody after prosecutors argued that he had previously contacted witnesses and victims, posing a potential threat to the case.

Prosecutors have claimed Combs orchestrated a “criminal enterprise” through his business empire, involving serious crimes like sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

After Tuesday’s bail hearing, Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed frustration with federal prosecutors. Speaking to reporters, Agnifilo said, “He came here to turn himself in. Why doesn’t the government want that? Because then they can’t ask for detention.” Agnifilo emphasized that Combs had flown to New York in good faith and voluntarily surrendered.

Agnifilo also revealed plans to appeal the judge’s decision, saying, “We’ll keep fighting until we get him out.” The appeal is set for Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET, before a different judge at the same New York courthouse.

US Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky denied bail, expressing concerns about Combs’ ability to manipulate events behind closed doors, even under pretrial monitoring.

Tarnofsky emphasized there were no conditions that could assure his appearance in court if released, CNN reports.

Combs’ defense team had proposed home detention and a $50 million bond secured by his Miami residence, but the judge found this insufficient.

Combs showed no visible reaction as the decision was made, simply sipping water before being escorted out of the courtroom.
