A lecturer in the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Olabisi Olaleye, has been recommended for dismissal for an alleged sexual offence.
One of his students, Motunrayo Afolayan, had accused him of sexually harassing her.
Olaleye was recommended to be dismissed from the employment of the university by the Prof. Yetunde Ajibade-led panel, which investigated Afolayan’s allegations against him.
OAU Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olanrewaju, hinted in a statement on Thursday that the investigative panel had submitted its reports to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede.

Though Olanrewaju’s statement did not reveal the content of the report, a member of the investigative panel, who spoke to EkoHotBlog on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the panel indicted Olaleye and recommended that he be dismissed from the university.
The source said, “We discovered during the investigation that he had been involved in messy deals with his students.
“Some of the students were too afraid to report him and some that did report him to some lecturers were fearful to provide evidence. That is why we commend Motunrayo Afolayan for her courage to speak out.
She did not just speak out, she provided strong evidence against the lecturer and I’m sure the lecturer too should know by now that his service to the university has ended.”
it was learnt that Afolayan presented a voice recording of where the lecturer was threatening her that she would not pass his course until he slept with her, among other amorous comments
