A man went ahead and married his girlfriend who died in Bauchi state.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG,  Mohammed Salisu of Abujan kwata area of the Bauchi metropolis last week married his late girlfriend Halima of the same address after her death.

The marriage came about after the husband paid the sum of N2, 000 brideprice to the family of the deceased girlfriend.

Blueprint indicates that the deceased woman has already made a will, even if she died., the family should marry her off to Salisu.

It was also understood that Salisu had been Halima’s long-time lover and the duo vowed to remain loyal forever.

Verifying the incident, Malam Bahajatu Nasir of the Bauchi state Shariah Commission said the wedding took place when the late Halima’s mother informed the public of her will that the funeral of the departed must take place.

Commenting with respect to development., an Islamic cleric in Bauchi and Chief Imam of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi Sheikh Dr Mansur Isah Yelwa criticized the marriage as bad and bad.

He believes that one of the rules of marriage in Islam is that the couple needs to be alive adding that each time a spouse dies, their marriage is over..

“This means that even those who were already married will have their marriage dissolved. immediately any of the two dies. If your partner passes away, you can marry someone else.. But for this man who is said to have married a dead wife, the marriage is null and void as it is contrary to islamic teachings”. The clerk straightened it out..
