EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the meeting between the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.
Tinubu, his running mate, Kashim Shettima, and other top chieftains of the APC visited Wike on Wednesday at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
The meeting came right after Tinubu had engaged his supporters in Rivers at the presidential campaign held today at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt.
The development, however, has generated a barrage of reactions as the meeting is coming less than ten days before the forthcoming general elections.
More so, it sparked speculations that Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may have stylishly endorsed Tinubu against his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Reacting, however, Senator Sani, while appearing on Channels Television, said until Wike makes a public endorsement of the APC presidential candidate, he will assume the meeting was a mere custom.
According to him, when any presidential candidate visits a state it is a tradition that he first visits the state’s chief executive, the traditional rulers and any prominent person before going on campaigns.
“So, the picture I have seen here is the presidential candidate of the APC, Jagaban visiting Wike. And until Wike comes out publicly to say he has endorsed Tinubu or Asiwaju, then I know that it’s the party (PDP) who will now decide what to do,” the former lawmaker said.
