Ekot Hot Blog reports that a former lawmaker of the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani has lashed Malam Nasir El-Rufai over recent religious comments that surfaced online.
Sani who called El-Rufai a religious bigot was lamenting the number of Christian clerics killed in Kaduna during his eight years as governor of Kaduna State.

Eko Hot Blog reports that a video surfaced online where El-Rufai boasted about the Muslim/Muslim ticket he pioneered in Kaduna State and which replicated at the federal level, would be sustained for 20 years.
Sani, on his Twitter feed, displayed photographs of four high-profile clerics killed by bandits in Kaduna the then Governor never paid a condolence visit to their families nor spoke about the murders.
Tweeting, Sani wrote: “Imagine a Governor of a State for eight years and these high profile clerics were murdered by terrorists in his state, and he never for once bothered to visit their families for condolence or even speak personally on the tragedies. If I don’t find a word bigger than a ‘bigot’, I’ll coin it.”

Among the clerics killed by terrorists in Kaduna was Reverend Musa Mairimi, the minister in charge of Ecwa Church, Buda two, Kasuwa Magani in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He was shot dead by gunmen suspected to be terrorists in March this year.

Also murdered by terrorists was the Director of Communications at the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Reverend Father John Cheitnum. He was abducted while on pastoral work at the rectory of Christ the King Catholic Church, Yadin Garu in Lere local government along with his colleagues. After some days, his decomposing body was recovered.
Also liked by terrorists in Kaduna were Jeremiah Omolara – Living Faith Church, Romi New Extension, Rev Iliya Anto – Former Vice President of HEKAN Church, Rev Fr. John Bako Shekwolo – St. Theresa Catholic Church, Ankwa, Kachia Local Government Area and Rev Hosea Akuchi – Nasara Baptist Church, Guru.
