Sheikh Awwal underscored the collective responsibility of Nigerians in the nation’s development, stating, “It is a project that requires the collaboration and contribution of every individual, regardless of their social status or profession.” He emphasized the need for sincerity, accountability, and a willingness to address underlying issues during times of crisis.

Highlighting the importance of accurate data and proper planning, the religious leader condemned the manipulation of numbers and lack of adequate planning, which hinder effective strategies for the well-being of citizens and future generations. “We must embrace transparency and prioritize accurate data collection to ensure proper planning and resource allocation,” he said.

Sheikh Awwal also stressed individual responsibility and accountability, using the example of a petty trader who complains about the government’s performance but fails to cultivate a good saving culture. “We must reflect on our personal shortcomings and strive for improvement, both financially and ethically,” he urged.

Despite the challenges, the Sheikh encouraged Nigerians to express gratitude for the nation’s blessings, such as abundant natural resources, favorable weather conditions, and a relatively low risk of natural disasters.

However, he acknowledged the struggle with good governance and effective resource management, calling it a collective responsibility to leverage these blessings for the betterment of the nation.

Addressing the way forward, Sheikh Awwal emphasized the need to acknowledge individual and collective sins, seek repentance through genuine self-reflection, and commit to positive change.

He urged Nigerians to exercise patience and support the present regime while holding leaders accountable and demanding transparency and effective governance.

The religious leader also highlighted the role of faith and prayer, stating, “Across all religions, prayer is a common practice and a source of strength. We must turn to prayer and seek divine guidance in our endeavors to build a better Nigeria.”
