Vice President Kashim Shettima will depart Abuja on Friday for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu at the commissioning and naming ceremony of a $315 million oil production and storage facility.
The facility, acquired by Oriental Energy Limited, a fully Nigerian-owned oil and gas company, is set to be commissioned on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a statement from his spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, revealed that after the event in Dubai, the Vice President will proceed to Saudi Arabia to perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) from December 16 to 19, 2024, in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah.
On December 20, 2024, he will also hold a bilateral meeting in Jeddah with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
The discussions will focus on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Phase II, as well as improving coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria to support the country’s agricultural and economic development. Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria by December 21, 2024.
Earlier on Friday, the Vice President attended the wedding Fatiha of Ibrahim Bagudu, son of the Honourable Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, and his bride, Amina Tatari Ali.
The ceremony took place at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna. Upon arrival in Kaduna, he was received by the State Governor, Senator Uba Sani. Before the wedding, Vice President Shettima participated in the Friday Juma’at prayers at the mosque.
He was accompanied by prominent figures including Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule; Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum; and the Special Adviser to the President on General Duties, Aliyu Umar.
Other notable dignitaries at the wedding included several state governors, senators, ministers, and business magnates such as Aliko Dangote.
