Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerians of a brighter and more prosperous 2025, as the nation’s economy shows signs of recovery.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Wednesday, Shettima expressed optimism about the country’s economic trajectory, despite global challenges.
“The economy has started picking up, and in the coming weeks and months, Nigerians will start smiling,” Shettima stated.
He revealed that the government, in collaboration with the National Assembly, is working tirelessly to develop and implement robust solutions to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
“There is no nation that is immune to the economic headwinds across the world,” he said, citing the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and other global events as significant factors impacting Nigeria’s economy.
However, the Vice President remained confident, assuring Nigerians that the country had crossed a critical threshold and is now on a sustainable growth path.
“The crisis in Ukraine and so many other global trends are affecting us adversely because we are part of the global community,” Shettima noted, but reiterated that proactive measures were in place to ensure economic stability and progress.
The Vice President’s remarks come as the government continues to roll out policies aimed at revitalizing key sectors, attracting foreign investment, and improving the livelihoods of Nigerians.
Shettima’s message of hope and resilience highlights the administration’s commitment to steering the nation toward economic prosperity and a better quality of life for its citizens in the coming year.
With a renewed focus on growth and development, Nigerians are urged to remain hopeful as the government works to deliver on its promises.
