The visit came in the wake of a double tragedy for Governor Namadi, who lost his mother, Hajiya Mariam Namadi, on December 25, and his eldest son, Abdulwahab Namadi, just 24 hours later.
During the condolence visit, Vice President Shettima reflected on the inevitability of death, stating, “Death is an unavoidable destiny for everyone. We are all from Allah and will return to Him. Our deeds in this world are our baggage as we await the final journey back to Allah.”
Shettima prayed for strength and comfort for the governor and his family, saying, “We are here on this sad occasion to offer our condolences on the loss of the matriarch of your family, a pillar of support to you, followed by the tragic loss of your beloved son. May Allah grant the departed souls eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus and grant the family the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses.”
The Vice President’s message was conveyed through a statement by his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha.
