Residents of a village in Odisha’s Balasore district in India witnessed a unique sight on Sunday, July 19 when they found a yellow turtle, most likely albino.
A senior wildlife officer identified as Bhanoomitra Acharya said it is a rare spotting, NDTV reports.
It was gathered that the turtle was rescued and officials of the forest department were called to the spot and the animal was handed over to them.

Acharya said: “The whole shell and the body of the rescued turtle is yellow. This is a rare turtle, I have never seen one like this.”
Indian Forest Services officer Susanta Nanda shared video of the yellow turtle on Twitter, saying it is most likely an albino.
He wrote: “Most probably it was an albino. One such aberration was recorded by locals in Sindh few years back.”
