The victim, Nokuthula Sithole was reportedly returning home from a local tavern with a friend when they encountered her ex-boyfriend.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a tragic incident that has left the community in shock, a 23-year-old woman was stoned to death by her ex-boyfriend in Giyani, Limpopo, South Africa. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Dzingidzingi village.
According to the Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the victim, Nokuthula Sithole, was returning home from a local tavern with her friend when they encountered her ex-boyfriend, Ceaseman Dala Chauke. The two had a confrontation, and Chauke allegedly assaulted Sithole with a stone.

Sithole’s friend screamed for help and ran to nearby households for assistance. When she returned to the scene, Sithole was unconscious and critically injured, while Chauke was nowhere to be found.
The critically injured woman was rushed to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her death has left the community devastated, and the South African Police Service has launched a manhunt for the 34-year-old suspect.
Colonel Ledwaba called on Chauke to turn himself in to the authorities, as it is believed that he could assist the police with further investigations into the matter. The police have also appealed to anyone with information that could lead to Chauke’s arrest to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Hobyani.
