SHOCKING: Borno Gov., Zulum Linked With Boko Haram Insurgents
Days after raising alarm on what he felt was a sabotage by the military in the terrorism war, governor of Borno state might become the target of public scrutiny in the coming days after latest information disclosed that the governor signed a pact with Boko Haram hierarchy and its sponsors.
A group known as North East Peace Assembly (NEPA), Socio-political group, has enjoined the governor to refrain from making comments that put President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigeria military in bad light.
The group gave the warning in a statement issued by its leader, Mallam Musa Babangida, on Saturday.
The statement is a precursor to conclusion of findings that refuted governor’s allegation of troops’ involvement in agricultural activities in the northeast.
You recall that Zulum convoy was attacked on his way to Baga, a town in Borno. It was, however, initially, believed that the Boko Haram insurgents were behind the attack.
But the governor couple of days after the incident, disclosed that he was attacked by the Nigerian soldiers and not Boko Haram.

Reacting to the governor’s claim, the group said Zulum is already gaining reputation for his penchant for falsehood and he’s already becoming a shrewd inventor of fake news.
Consequently, The group gave a seven-day ultimatum to the governor to apologize to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian military over his remarks.
NEPA said refusal of Zulum to tender the apology would lead to disclosure of the secret pact the Governor had with Boko Haram and its Sponsors.
The said the governor will be forced to tell the world about his secret pact with Boko Haram and its sponsors.
The statement Read, “Gov. Zulum; reclaim your honour by tendering an unreserved apology to Nigerian Army for consistent defamation of character”, the North East Peace Assembly demanded that the Borno Governor should do the needful to redeem his already battered image.
The group said Borno Governor Zulum is fast “carving a niche for himself as an astute fabricator/inventor of sensational fake news” and Nigerians now perceive him as “one of the many covert forces promoting Boko Haram terrorism in Nigeria”.
“The North East Peace Assembly (NEPA) wishes to animate the conscience of Borno state Gov. Babagana Umara Zulum to claim his honour and dignity for unswervingly portraying himself as a leader who regales in peddling blatant lies on the Army. He must do it within seven days of this publication and upon failure, Nigerians should compel him to tell the rest of the world, the secret pact he has signed with Boko Haram and its sponsors,” the group added
