In a statement on Friday, the Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) said his wife requested for a domestic violence case against her husband to be withdrawn.
Recall that Sir Jarus spurred social media uproar last Friday after admitting that he beat his wife “a couple of times” because she frustrated him to “overreact”.
The public admission prompted the Lagos DSVA to call on the police to investigate him and charge him to court.
Consequently, the police invited the self-admitted wife beater and charged him to the Ogba Magistrate Court in Ogba, Lagos, on Thursday.
He was charged on two counts. Count l: Assault against his spouse. Count ll: Conduct Likely to Cause Breach of Peace.
However, the case could not move forward because the victim, his wife, denied the charges levelled against her husband.
The Lagos anti-domestic violence agency said Magistrate Owolabi subsequently struck out the case with conditions.
“I shall strike out these charges on the following conditions,” the magistrate was quoted as saying.
The conditions are:
- The defendant shall put down his X(Twitter) blog for one month.
- The defendant shall attend counseling sessions at the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, and the agency will provide a report to the court.
“The matter was adjourned to 30th of September 2024 for compliance with the agency’s report,” the Lagos DSVA spokesperson said.
“We extend our appreciation to the Lagos State Police Command for their swift response as well as to everyone that brought this case to our attention.
“We use this medium to reiterate the Lagos State Government’s commitment to providing support and resources to survivors, ensuring their voices are heard, and advocating for justice in all cases of domestic and sexual violence.
“If you or anyone you know is experiencing domestic or sexual violence, please do not hesitate to reach out to us on our toll-free line at 08000-333-333/ 0813-796-0048. We are here to help.”

The wife’s decision not to pursue a case was hardly a surpise. During the week, the self-admitted wife beater posted a video of him and his victim all lovey-dovey, seeming to have put the multiple domestic violence incidents behind them.
