Six Shot Dead As Mothers Day Celebration Party Turns Tragic

Six people have been shot dead at a birthday party which was organized to also mark the Mothers Day celebration yesterday, May 9, 2021.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the horrifying incident happened at Colorado Springs, USA, during a get-together organized to mark the Mothers Day celebration as well as the birthday of a yet to be identified celebrant.
According to an eyewitness, the gunman walked into the party venue at 12am and began shooting indiscriminately, leaving six people dead.
The gunman, who was severely injured in the wake of the incident reportedly died at a nearby hospital despite the best efforts of the Police and the Paramedics.
Other party guests, including children, were, however, spared from the night’s horror.
While the motive behind the shooting could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, the Colorado Police Department have launched an investigation to unravel the mystery behind this appalling act.
“Words fall short to describe the tragedy that took place this morning,” Colorado Springs Police Chief Vince Niski said. “As the chief of police, as a husband, as a father, as a grandfather, as a member of this community, my heart breaks for the families who have lost someone they love and for the children who have lost their parents.
“From the officers who responded to the shooting to the investigators still on scene, we are all left incredibly shaken.”

Police have yet to name the victims, saying they are working to notify their families.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said the shooting was “devastating, especially as many of us are spending the day celebrating the women in our lives who have made us the people we are today.”
“Families are torn apart,” he said, “and at a birthday party no less.”
Gun violence, with its attendant increase in violent crime, the proliferation of guns, and the use of firearms has insidiously become an albatross around the neck of 21st century America.
In the United States, access to guns is controlled by law under a number of federal statutes. These laws regulate the manufacture, trade, possession, transfer, record keeping, transport, and destruction of firearms, ammunition, and firearms accessories. They are enforced by state agencies and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
In addition to federal gun laws, all state governments and some local governments have their own laws that regulate firearms.
However, an increasing wave of gun related crimes in recent memory has evoked massive dissent within many quarters of American society who believe that the Government isn’t doing enough to curb the proliferation of gun violence in the country.
