Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a commendable display of leadership and compassion, Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, the eloquent and articulate member representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has once again reached out to his constituents with a generous distribution of food items and cash assistance.

The event, which took place at the Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) secretariat, saw over 1,000 residents of the six wards within the LCDA benefit from Hon. Ogunkelu’s (also known as “Sketel”) latest gesture.

Speaking at the distribution, Hon. Ogunkelu expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support of his constituents, saying, “I appreciate the frantic efforts of my people in Epe Constituency II who always stand by me and act as my back bone at all times.”

Recognizing the ongoing economic challenges faced by the people, Hon. Ogunkelu also commended the efforts of the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the implementation of palliative measures across the 57 local government areas and local council development areas in Lagos.

Notably, Hon. Ogunkelu used the occasion to drum up support for the re-election bid of Hon. Wale-Raji Anomo, the current chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, whom he described as having performed “creditably well” since assuming office.

“I have no doubt in me that Hon. Anomo has performed beyond expectation as the chairman of this LCDA,” said Hon. Ogunkelu. “As the saying goes, one good turn, deserves another. With heart of sincerity Anomo deserves second term and I give to him so shall it be.”

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Emmanuel Elizabeth Arike, expressed her gratitude for Hon. Ogunkelu’s generosity, saying, “We really appreciate the efforts of the lawmaker who thinks good of his people.” However, she also noted that there is a need for more people to benefit from the legislator’s benevolence.
