Fish is ranked among the healthiest foods in the world because of its impressive nutrient contents, some of which include protein, vitamins and minerals, which makes it very good for the body. However, in order to avoid spoilage, fish are usually smoked.
Smoking is a method of cooking whereby the food is placed over a fire and made to dry over a smoke. Smoking is no doubt one of the most popular ways of preserving fish in this part of the world, as fish preserved using this method is usually very tasty and long-lasting.

3. It is high in sodium
Sodium is only beneficial to the body when it’s consumed in moderation, as it helps to maintain a healthy balance of water and minerals. Research shows that a 100 gram serving of smoked fish has 672 milligrams of sodium, which is on the high side.
