Soccer Academy To Collaborate With Kogi State Government To Hunt For Talented Soccer Players

Marasata Soccer Academy, had concluded plans to collaborate with Kogi State Government in a bid to scout for talented soccer players in Kogi State.

Coach Martins Asata, the Founder/Chief Operating Coach of Marasata Academy disclosed this during a media briefing in Lagos, on Sunday.

According to him, the Academy gives vibrant youths the opportunity to achieve their ambition of playing/studying within Nigeria/overseas and to also become world-class professional players in the years to come.

“Many of our players including Kogi youth soccer players have travelled to U.S.A and Switzerland to exhibit their skills and were later signed by foreign football academy, while some got scholarship awards.

“Such an opportunity still awaits our new and upcoming footballers in Kogi State, hence the players are required to register online for the upcoming screening exercise scheduled to hold at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja between the 5th & 7th of November, 2020.

Registration day is 5th Nov., at the stadium. Participants can also visit the Academy’s website (www.marasataacademy.com) for online registration.

“The Academy also compliments the efforts of other bodies such as the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in developing soccer to an enviable height in Nigeria

Coach Asata enjoined every talented soccer player in Kogi State and environs to key into this opportunity for self-discovery and promoting his or her talent to the world via Marasata Soccer Academy.

Also, Coach Yisa Sofoluwe, the Head, Coaching Crew of Marasata Soccer Academy said that the forthcoming screening exercise would serve as an avenue for the discovery of young and talented youth soccer players in Kogi State.

Coach Sofoluwe, an Ex-Super Eagles player added that he would double as one of the screening coaches on the day of the event.

Hon. Abdulmalik Malik Isah a.k.a (Dolly), the Chairman, Kogi State Sports Council commended Gov. Yahaya Bello for the continued and unalloyed support for young talented youths of Kogi State.

He is optimistic that the SPORTING GOVERNOR of Kogi State will once again support this laudable program which aims at exposing the innate talents of youths in Kogi State to the sporting world.

“I give all thanks and adoration to God and our Gov. Yahaya Bello for his immense contribution to the sporting industry, and for reappointing him as the Chairman, Kogi State’s Sports Council.

He further acknowledged the good works of the youngest and sports-loving Chief Of Staff of the Governor – Phm Asuku Muhammed Jamiu Asuku.

“The Governor and his team have been very supportive and we appreciate all the encouragement and opportunities given to the sports sector, ” he said.

Earlier, Hon. Idris Jimoh Jolly, a Sports Enthusiast, and Philanthropist commended the management of Marasata Soccer Academy for bringing such an opportunity to Kogi state for his Kogi indigenes to benefits from it.

He added that it was a big privilege to have a soccer academy like Marasata Soccer Academy to come to Kogi State to scout for talented Soccer Players.

“We have great talented youths in the state and we are happy to have this soccer academy here in our city to scout for the most talented youths to showcase their innate talent to the world, ” he said.
