Social Media, a critical tool in crime fighting – IGP Adamu

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu, has advised policemen to take advantage of the social Media in engaging the public in crime-related issues and awareness creation.

He made this known at the closing ceremony of a 4-day training workshop for all police spokespersons and PPROs in Nigeria.

He said that social media has made comminution easier in the dissemination of information and if used effectively, it can become an important tool for police Spokespersons.

At the end of the four-day workshop, participants were presented with certificates and assured of continuous training to meet up with modern policing trends in combating misinformation and fake news.

The training was coordinated by resource persons from the School of Media and Communication, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.
