Dr. Garba Nadama, the second civilian governor of Sokoto State has been announced dead by the present government of the state.
The state government said the deceased died after an illness of natural cause at the age of 82 years.
The state government added that the state governor, Aminu Tambuwal, and other members of his cabinet have sent words of condolences to the family of the deceased and pray that may Almighty Allah grant them the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Tambuwal was quoted as he said the late Nadama was a dedicated and upright statesman whose ideas have reflected in the growth of the state.

Madama served as governor of the old Sokoto state from November 1981 to December 1983, having succeeded late Alh. Shehu Kanagawa.
Tambuwal added that Nadama is someone whose character is worth emulating and urged the citizens of the state to learn from the deceased’s personality
