Soldier kills four colleagues, injures others in a battle with Boko Haram

A Nigerian Army corporal fighting insurgency in the North-East has shot dead four of his colleagues, injuring two others.

The acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa, said in a statement that the unnamed corporal went berserk and shot himself during the shock incident which took place at the Army Super Camp 15, located in Malam Fatori, Borno State, in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to him, the two injured soldiers were rushed to a military hospital in Maiduguri.

Musa said the army hierarchy had ordered investigation into the case.

Efforts are on to contact the families of our gallant colleagues who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.”
