Solskjaer Backing Man Utd To Break Transfer Record Twice

Published

on

With his sights firmly set on the task of restoring Manchester United to the glory days enjoyed under legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t see breaking the club’s transfer record twice this summer as such a big deal.

The Norwegian, who took over in an interim position in December following the sacking of Jose Mourinho before being earning a permanent 3-year deal, seeks a total overhaul of his defence.

The job even becomes more tasking for the former super-sub dubbed the “Baby Face Assasin” by fans in his playing days after the club finished sixth in the league last season.

As far as the London Evening Standard is aware, Solskjaer has made his desire to sign Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Leicester City and Crystal Palace respectively, to the club’s boss, Ed Woodward.

And with Crystal Palace holding out for £60m for England U21 international, leading to a rejection of Man U’s initial offer, he would become the most expensive defender in the club’s history should the deal go through.

Same would go for Maguire whose club want Man U to pay £80m to once more break the transfer record for a defender.
